About Shaphali

Shaphali comes from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, and her relationship with yoga began long before it became a profession. It began as a personal necessity, a quiet, determined search for self-care at a time when she needed it most. That origin matters, because it is what gives her teaching its particular quality: the understanding that yoga, at its most useful, is not a performance but a response to a real human need.

Qualifications & Credentials

Shaphali holds multiple academic degrees alongside her YCB Level 2 certification as a Yoga Wellness Instructor, a government-recognised qualification under the Ministry of AYUSH. It was the YCB certification, however, that marked the turning point, not merely formalising her knowledge, but giving her the clarity and confidence to establish her own yoga centre, where she works closely with individuals navigating chronic illness, weight concerns, stress, and women's health. What she offers there is not a standardised programme. It is a genuinely personalised practice, shaped by each person's needs and circumstances.

Yoga Training

Shaphali's classical foundation is in Ashtanga Yoga, which she had the privilege of practising under the guidance of Saraswati Jois in Mysuru. That experience remains one of the most significant of her life as a practitioner. Ashtanga taught her that yoga is not about what the body can perform,  it is about what consistent, disciplined practice builds from the inside. The precision and internal awareness the practice demands are qualities she carries into every teaching context, and she particularly enjoys sharing these subtleties with students in the Teacher Training programmes, where the depth of classical practice is often encountered for the first time.

Facial Wellness: A Personal Beginning

Shaphali's work in facial wellness has an equally personal origin. She came to face yoga through her own challenges with skin health, looking for something that worked without dependence on chemical-based products. What she found through sustained practice exceeded what she had hoped for, and that experience convinced her of its genuine therapeutic value far more than any academic study could have.

She now teaches facial wellness as an extension of yogic self-care, integrating breathwork, facial movement, and relaxation practices into a coherent approach to natural skin health and radiance. It is a practice she has lived with, refined over years, and come to understand from the inside out.

Professional Journey

Before stepping into a formal teaching role, Shaphali built her understanding of yoga across years of personal practice, classical training, and sustained independent study. The establishment of her own yoga centre marked her entry into professional teaching, a space she has shaped around individual need, and one that has given her a practitioner's ground-level understanding of what people actually struggle with and what genuinely helps.

Her connection to Ayushman Yog followed naturally from that commitment to depth, and she joined as faculty to bring the same personalisation into the structured context of YCB teacher training.

At Ayushman Yog

Shaphali contributes as faculty across two programmes at Ayushman Yog.

  • In the YCB Teacher Training Courses, she guides aspiring yoga teachers through the practical components of their certification, bringing to that role both her classical training and the hard-won experience of building and running an independent yoga centre. There is a quality of teaching that only comes from having worked with real people in real circumstances over many years, and that is what she brings to this programme.

  • In the Yogic Management of Facial Wellness programme, she teaches the principles and practices she has lived with and refined over the years, offering students not just technique, but the understanding that makes technique meaningful.

Teaching Philosophy

What Shaphali is working toward, through both programmes, is something larger than individual sessions or certifications. She wants students to leave with a relationship with yoga that sustains them,  one that serves their health, their appearance, and their inner life, not as separate concerns but as parts of a single, integrated practice.

Yoga, for Shaphali, has never been about exercise. It is a way of living. And her deepest aim is to help others find it that way too.
