About Amulya
Amulya's path to yoga and teaching has been shaped by two worlds, and that is precisely what she has to offer.
Born in India and raised in Germany, she completed half of her education in each country. That dual upbringing gave her something difficult to acquire any other way: the ability to hold two very different frameworks for understanding the human experience simultaneously, and to find what is genuinely useful in both. It is a perspective she brings into every class she teaches.
Yoga Training
Amulya's practice began with Bikram Hatha Yoga in Germany, where she spent over a decade building the discipline, physical awareness, and mental steadiness that serious yoga demands. That foundation led her deeper into the classical tradition, and she subsequently trained in Ashtanga Yoga under the guidance of Saraswati Jois in Mysuru, an experience that sharpened her understanding of what a structured, rigorous practice can build in a practitioner over time. The precision and internal consistency of the Ashtanga method continue to inform both her own practice and her teaching.
Qualifications & Credentials
Amulya holds an MSc in Psychological Sciences from Brunel University London, where she studied the intersection of psychology and holistic healing with the same seriousness she brought to the mat. She is trained in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and Compassionate Inquiry. These methodologies have given her practical tools for working with students navigating chronic pain, emotional difficulty, and deeply held patterns of tension and avoidance.
She holds a YCB Level 3 certification as a Yoga Teacher and Evaluator, a government-recognised qualification under the Ministry of AYUSH, one of the highest levels of YCB professional certification. Notably, after completing her Level 1 through Ayushman Yog, she chose to prepare independently for the Level 3 examination, clearing it through sustained self-directed study alongside her existing academic and professional commitments.
Professional Journey
Before moving into yoga and psychology, Amulya worked in structural engineering and construction management in Hamburg. That experience, perhaps unexpectedly, gave her a lasting appreciation for the value of well-designed, structurally sound programmes, built for long-term results rather than short-term impressions. It is a sensibility that runs through everything she builds as an educator.
Her connection to Ayushman Yog began as a student. What she found there engaged her far more deeply than she had anticipated, and following her Level 3 certification, Ayushman Yog invited her to join as faculty for the Teacher Training programmes.
Amulya has also founded Glitz Arogya, an online wellness platform. She believes that the separation between psychological wellbeing and yogic practice is largely artificial, and that the stigma around seeking therapy remains one of the most quietly damaging forces in people's lives. Glitz Arogya was built to bridge that gap, offering live yoga classes, yoga therapy, and compassion-based talk therapy within a single, integrated space, so that students can move naturally between physical practice and deeper emotional support without the weight of labels or hesitation. The platform serves students across India and internationally, including in Germany, and reflects Amulya's core conviction: that healing is not a clinical transaction, but something that becomes possible when people feel genuinely met.
At Ayushman Yog
Amulya serves as faculty across the YCB Teacher Training Courses and the Advanced Daily Yoga Practice programme.
In the TTC, she works with aspiring teachers on the practical and philosophical dimensions of their certification, bringing to that role both classical training and a psychological understanding of how people learn, change, and develop.
In the Advanced Daily Practice, she guides serious practitioners through a deepening of their physical and contemplative practice with an emphasis on the kind of sustained, intentional engagement that distinguishes practice from exercise.
Teaching Philosophy
What Amulya is most interested in, across all of this work, is the space where the body and the mind meet and where genuine transformation becomes possible. Yoga, for her, has never been primarily about postures. It is about what consistent, honest practice reveals about the person practising, and what becomes available to them as a result.
Ayushman Yog is the right place to do that work.
