This course changes that. You will study Surya Namaskar in its full depth, moving through three distinct living traditions and two therapeutic adaptations, each with its own approach to breath, movement, and intention. What You Will Learn: The classical tradition as documented by the Bihar School of Yoga, covering the asana sequence across two variations, static and dynamic breath coordination, Antah Kumbhaka and Bahya Kumbhaka, and the complete mantra and Beeja Mantra layer. The Surya Namaskar of Dhirendra Brahmachari, a more vigorous and dynamic approach, distinct in alignment, sequencing, and transitions from the classical version. The third tradition covered is Surya Namaskar A and B from the Ashtanga Primary Series of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, practiced with Ujjayi breath, Drishti, and vinyasa flow. Therapeutic adaptations: the 12-posture self-contained round suitable for senior practitioners and beginners, and the Child Posture variation for students with limited strength or mobility.
