Imagine being able to sit with a client, understand what their body and mind are actually going through, and design a real, reasoned therapeutic practice for them, not just teach a class. That is what this course trains you to do.
The YCB Level 6 - Self Paced study material is built to take you from existing yoga teacher to certified Yoga Therapist, under the Yoga Certification Board (YCB) Level 6 framework, as per the syllabus issued by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. By the end of it, you will be able to work alongside physicians and Yoga Consultants, understand the anatomy and biomechanics behind every practice you teach, and confidently build therapeutic protocols for real conditions, not just recite what a textbook says about them.
Why Self-Paced:
The Yoga Certification Board created this syllabus to ensure structured, standardised training for teachers moving into therapeutic work. Recognising how hard it is for a working yoga teacher to fit an intensive program around their own classes and commitments, Ayushman Yog offers this syllabus in a self-paced format, so you study this advanced training at your own pace, around your own schedule, without being tied to a fixed class time.
Is This Course Right for You?
A few honest questions, before you commit:
Is Level 6 too advanced for me? This is genuinely an advanced, intensive course, and a real interest in anatomy and biomechanics will serve you well. But you don't need to already know everything. The course is structured to build your knowledge system by system, from the ground up, so each module prepares you for the next.
Will I actually finish a self-paced course this size? This is the most common worry with any self-paced program, and it's why we don't just hand you hours of material and wish you luck. You get a downloadable Study Structure Sheet, mapping all 12 modules day by day, exactly what to read, what to practice, and what you should take away each day. It turns a large, intimidating syllabus into a series of small, doable days.
Am I getting real support, or just a pile of videos? You are added to a dedicated WhatsApp community on enrolment, with access to admins, fellow students on the same material, and live online workshops for hands-on Shatkarma practice. This is a self-paced course, not a solitary one.
Before You Begin: Download Your Study Structure Sheet
Please download the Study Structure Sheet first, before you start studying, and use it as your primary guide throughout. It is what turns this course from a syllabus into a plan.

What You'll Study:
Theory: Complete written material as per the YCB Level 6 syllabus, in-depth anatomy and physiology across every major body system, detailed biomechanics of every asana so you can confidently explain the mechanics behind any pose, grounding in Ayurveda, Naturopathy, and Siddha, and yogic philosophy through the Gita, Patanjala Yoga Sutra, and Yoga Vashishtha.
Practical: Written instructions, illustrations, and tutorial videos for every demonstration skill in the syllabus, therapeutic protocols across musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, reproductive, neurological, psychological, and age-related conditions, study material for assessment skills (anthropometry, vital signs, physical measurement), Kriya practical (Jala Neti, Vaman Dhauti, Trataka, Shankha Prakshalana), and full guidance on Pranayama, Mudra, and Bandha, with the physiology behind each.
Learn to Design Your Own Therapy Protocols: This is the heart of the course. As you move through each body system, you will actively write your own therapeutic Morning Management protocols for real conditions, drawing on that week's anatomy, biomechanics, and therapy chapters. By the end, you won't just have read about yoga therapy. You will have practiced building it yourself, system by system, condition by condition.
Daily Practice That Grows With You: Every module carries its own daily practice, deepening in step with your theoretical understanding: Sukshma Vyayama, Surya Namaskar across the Hatha, Dhirendra Brahmachari, Ashtanga, and Therapy traditions, the Standing Ashtanga Primary Series, every syllabus asana practiced with active recall of the muscles and joints engaged, the complete range of Pranayama, Mudras, Bandhas, and the PRANA breath-retraining protocol. Your practice time increases as the course progresses, building you toward the depth expected of a working therapist.
Quizzes: Every chapter closes with a set of MCQs, so you can check your understanding as you go and stay confident about your exam readiness throughout the course.
Beyond the Syllabus: (additional material, not part of the YCB examination, included to make you a genuinely well-rounded therapist)
Foundation Sequences: Pawanmuktasana Series 1, 2, and 3, and the Ashtanga Standing Series
Surya Namaskar In addition to classical traditions, Ashtanga, and Therapy traditions
DPYT Model: Our proprietary framework combining Morning Management self-practice with therapist-led Class Management
PRANA: A structured breath-retraining method grounded in physiology of Time-Honoured Bharamri.
